[Cool, aloof policewoman with amazing driving skills * loyal follower Lu Jiuchao]

In her fifth year working at the Pinghai Public Security Bureau, Gu Ci takes on six cases.

A woman is mysteriously murdered on the street, an underage girl dies in a small hotel, a popular actress dies in an accident, a billionaire can't afford to buy her life, and a student returning from overseas gets caught up in a scam company...

One case after another. They seem unrelated, yet are tangled together like a mess of threads. In the end, the clues point to the case that was left unresolved three years ago.

A comrade dies, an informant goes missing. Gu Ci gives everything she has to find the truth.

Just when she is so busy she can barely tell day from night, someone dumps an intern on her.

A rich second-generation kid who got in through connections? She'll show him how cruel society can be!

Seventeen years ago, five-year-old Lu Jiuchao was kidnapped by criminals.

In an isolated place, cut off from the world, he met a big sister whose eyes sparkled with life.

"Let's run away," she said to him.

Under the cover of night, the big sister took his hand and led him across a desolate field, through a forest where branches twisted wildly, and through a stream cold enough to chill him to the bone, until the darkness was completely broken.

From then on, she became his light.

A friendly reminder: Some of the criminals in this story are genuinely evil. The characters' values do not represent the author's. Please don't attack the author personally.

The next book will be the historical mystery The Dream Drifts to Xizhou, featuring the imperial examinations, solving crimes, and revenge.

[Arrogant, sharp-tongued top scholar * young lady who bears humiliation and bides her time]

Yun Xi is the daughter of a disgraced official, fleeing for her life.

After falling off a cliff, she is rescued by a scholar. Unfortunately, the scholar is so stingy that he insists she stay and work off her debt.

Shen Nanfeng is a poor scholar traveling to the capital to take the imperial examinations.

One day, while studying hard in the countryside, he looks down and sees the woman he has long yearned for but never dared to approach, right at his feet.

The past is hard to leave behind, and old memories come flooding back.

If you can stay by each other's side through thick and thin, don't let each other fade into the world.
