Warnings first: The female protagonist is extremely unpleasant and treats everyone equally badly. A pure hater who kills those who wrong her, harms those who help her, and looks down on anyone who loves her. As for the people she loves... is she even capable of loving anyone? She thinks extremely highly of herself and has no empathy. She does whatever she pleases, fully aware that she sees everyone as sick, and assumes everyone sees her the same way.
Here's the proper synopsis:
Jiang Li was born six months after the Emperor of Western Chu ascended the throne. She was a princess, but not the new emperor's child.
Don't get the wrong idea. There's no tantalizing palace intrigue here. She was the late emperor's youngest daughter, but she arrived at an inopportune time: her father died while she was still in the womb, and her mother died on the day she was born.
The Imperial Preceptor said her fate was too inauspicious and might bring harm to the ruler. She had to live at the imperial tombs, where the ancestral dragon energy could suppress the baleful aura surrounding her.
Perhaps the Imperial Preceptor's cultivation wasn't good enough. Not only was the baleful aura around her not suppressed, it struck again after claiming her father and mother: Western Chu fell.
The emperor and empress took their own lives, and the entire royal family died. Only she, far away from the palace, remained alive.
She spent a year killing pigs in the marketplace with an old eunuch. Just when Jiang Li was about to forget that she had once been a princess, a man in green appeared before her.
He said his name was Cao Changqing. He said she was destined to restore the kingdom. Then he said she had to be invincible, and sealed away her capacity for love.
Because only someone without love could be a worthy ruler.
I'm parking this idea here for now. I'll write it once exams are over and I have more time. I really love writing protagonists who are a little mentally unstable and skulk around in the dark. If Yanyan from my previous work was a fake yandere, then A Li is genuinely bad. The strangest thing is that even after her capacity for love was sealed, she's still quite lively and has an ENTJ personality. Making this character feel well-rounded, believable, and compelling will be a huge challenge.
Theme: I would rather be myself than be your beloved.
