After finally managing to get some time off, Qin Shouxin was looking forward to staying home and sleeping for two days straight. Then a call from her former boss and friend summoned her to the entrance of a bar.
She searched the entire bar but couldn't find the person on the other end of the phone, who had been drinking and crying nonstop. Just as she was about to leave, she caught sight of a striking figure beside the bar.
Her long-dormant heart suddenly began to pound. Qin Shouxin mustered her courage and offered the woman a drink.
Who could have known that the woman would part her red lips and shut down the police officer's hopes with a simple, "I don't drink drinks from you." Qin rode off alone on her little electric scooter, looking utterly dejected.
The gloomy police officer returned to work the very next day. Then she unexpectedly heard that a new forensic pathologist was about to join the force.
Half an hour later, a black Mercedes-Benz with a classic upright grille pulled up in front of the police station. The woman who stepped out of the back seat was Shi Yue, the same woman who had coldly rejected Qin's advances the night before. Wearing a perfectly tailored blouse and skirt, she surveyed the famous captain of the criminal investigation team with an enigmatic smile.
"Well, officer, it really has been a long time."
Qin Shouxin was in turmoil. Her faded T-shirt was as sad as she felt inside.
That night, one of Qin Shouxin's students dragged her to the biggest clothing mall in the city center. As she was trying on clothes, a cool voice sounded behind her.
"What a coincidence, Officer Qin." Seeing how intimate the two of them looked, Shi Yue lifted her sunglasses and smiled faintly. "You really move on to new flirtations at an astonishing speed."
Qin Shouxin had never faced anything like this. She hurriedly explained, "Miss Shi, you've got it wrong. This is my student."
Shi Yue's expression softened a little, but then Qin added, "Besides, I've never been in a relationship."
"You've never been in a relationship?"
"That's right."
Wonderful.
Shi Yue was so furious at those few words that she nearly crushed the photo of the two of them in her hand.
Qin: Seven years can change so much. I seem to have forgotten you, but my heartbeat remembers.
Shi: Dopamine can make people forget their pain, but I don't need that anymore.
