For no apparent reason, a game called My Favorite Boyfriend appeared on office worker Jiang Tianyu's phone.
He thought it was an affection-raising game focused on romance, but never imagined that his daily quests would be exploring the wilderness, fighting monsters, and scavenging trash.
His virtual boyfriend, “South Pole Star,” was a delicate, beautiful man, but he lived in a dangerous little town overrun with monsters. He went hungry for days at a time, and even when he finally managed to scavenge some trash, he had to sneak off somewhere secluded to eat it.
Was he afraid someone would rob him or something?
Jiang Tianyu fell silent. He decided to take on the role of the town's mayor and lead the town to prosperity through construction. He even formed an armed force to drive out the monsters, determined to help every resident live in peace and make a decent living.
#I won't let my handsome boyfriend eat trash every day!#

South Pole Star was a monster disguised as an ordinary human. He fed on “Seeds of Nightmare,” formed from negative emotions such as human fear and despair.
Fortunately, the place he called home, Nightmare Town, was a hopeless place with no tomorrow. There weren't many residents, but their output was steady. South Pole Star followed a habit of eating small meals often, and managed to keep himself barely fed.
Until one day.
A young mayor appeared out of nowhere in Nightmare Town.
As if deliberately picking a fight with South Pole Star, the man kept an eye on him, stole his food, and forced him to eat disgusting human food. He even transformed Nightmare Town into a thriving place full of hope, completely wrecking South Pole Star's sustainable food supply.
South Pole Star was furious enough to kill someone, but the town's mayor was a human who seemed even more monstrous than a monster. He couldn't beat the guy, so what else could he do?
#Does nobody care if an endangered monster lives or dies?!#

After working himself to the bone for ages, Jiang Tianyu finally transformed the town completely. No one went hungry anymore, no monsters invaded the land, and yet...
