Jin Shan is an unconventional yet traditional woman.
In a matriarchal world full of strong, imposing women, her frail appearance makes her stand out.
When choosing a man, she insists he be both talented and handsome, as well as completely chaste. That makes her seem very traditional.
With sky-high standards and so few men who meet them, Jin Shan has become an "older unmarried woman" without ever finding a proper husband.
By a twist of fate, she transmigrates to a world of martial arts, but Jin Shan remains devoted to her goal of finding a partner.
Faced with an unfamiliar environment, she wisely lowers her standards.
She has only two requirements for her future husband:
1. He must possess the best dowry a man can offer: his chastity.
2. He must give her a child to carry on the Jin family line.
At first, Jin Shan takes a liking to a thief.
He's handsome and says all the right things. She doesn't mind that he's lowborn. She likes him a lot.
But at the crucial moment, no matter how thoroughly Jin Shan searches him, she can't find the cinnabar mark that proves his chastity.
It's over. She's encountered something impure.
Later, Jin Shan rallies and sets her sights on an assassin.
Broad shoulders, a narrow waist, and a big butt: he looks like he'd be great at bearing children.
Most importantly, she checked. He's a virgin, a complete virgin, absolutely a virgin!
After a few encounters, Jin Shan eagerly feels the assassin's belly, only to find him looking utterly confused.
"What! Men in this world can't have children!"
Jin Shan is bewildered. Jin Shan is devastated. But Jin Shan refuses to despair.
Maybe there's a one-in-ten-thousand chance, after all. Jin Shan firmly believes that one day she'll find the perfect love of her life.
Tip:
Jin Shan comes from a matriarchal world where men give birth, but women can have children too.
