Jiang Li came back to life again, on the main street in Yokohama.
"Didn't I stay in Nibelungen?"
"Didn't I undergo three bouts of Blood Rage and turn into a dragon?"
"Am I a person or a ghost now? No, what the heck am I?!"
Before Jiang Li could figure any of that out, he shoved the questions aside because he had discovered a more pressing problem: he was broke.
At Takamagahara:
"Would you like to join us? I could tell at a glance that you have talent!"
"Of course. I'd be delighted." Jiang Li gave a charming smile, full of honeyed temptation.
To the Detective Agency:
"Would you like to join the agency? Lord Ranpo knows that you..."
"No problem, I'm in." Jiang Li slid over on his knees and clasped Ranpo's hand, his eyes brimming with tenderness.
To the Port Mori Corporation:
"Mr. Jiang, joining the Port Mori Corporation is surely your best option." A certain unscrupulous boss smiled meaningfully, his hands clasped beneath his chin.
"I refuse. I'm a law-abiding citizen." Jiang Li stood at the edge of a high-rise, thinking: Even if I had to kill a dragon with tears in my eyes and raid Tokyo Tower at night, I'd still be a law-abiding citizen, right? I haven't violated the Abraham blood pact.
"Bye-bye~" He blew a kiss to the balding man, then leaped off the building.
The wind whipped past his ears, mercilessly blocking his nose and mouth as he fell.
"Hey, are you really going to do it like this?! Did you learn that from that bastard Mackerel?"
A figure with orange hair flew beside Jiang Li, an ominous red glow swirling before his eyes.
"Chuya~ I told you back then, I'm not here to break you two up. I'm here to join you."
So, wish me luck, my failsafe. I hope the day never comes when you have to kill me with your own hands.
The sorrow of the blood has always been there. Perhaps this is the fate of mixed-bloods.
"Goodbye. Maybe I should say, I love you."
I will break free of the sorrow of the blood. I will fall in love with you. This is my fate, and nothing can hold me back.
