Throughout all three years of high school, Wen Yao secretly loved Chen Yinan.

She couldn't explain her feelings, or say when they began. Maybe it was one of his smiles, or something he said. Maybe it started when he spoke as the freshman representative, or perhaps even earlier.

On the eve of the college entrance exam, she finally worked up the courage, but a sudden downpour shattered her beautiful dream.

Chen Yinan... had a girlfriend.

Wen Yao left with a sense of regret.

She once found a ray of light in the long summer, and returned it to the sun at sunset.

Years later, the two met again on the street. It was another rainy day, and Wen Yao's heart recognized him before she did.

Wen Yao thought Chen Yinan had probably forgotten her after all these years. She never expected that, the moment their eyes met, he would walk toward her first.

Chen Yinan lowered his head to look at her. The moment he opened his mouth, Wen Yao's eyes turned red.

He said, "I'm sorry. I broke my promise that day."

Later, amid a blizzard, Chen Yinan held Wen Yao tightly as a tumult of complicated emotions surged through him.

After a long while, he leaned close to Wen Yao's ear. His usually steady, clear voice had turned hoarse, with a faint tremor she could barely detect. "Wen Yao, this time, will you let me be the one to pursue you?"
