Icy angel top vs. shameless demon bottom
Synopsis:
People always say that if they could do everything over again, they'd never do this or that, and would never repeat the same mistakes in their next life.
Chi Shao has only one thing to say about that:
Well said. Too bad you can't do it.
Everyone knows that angels and demons are completely opposed. Pure, beautiful, sacred, warm, and righteous: every good word in the world can describe angels.
Demons, on the other hand, deserve nothing but the label of utterly wicked.
As it happens, Chi Shao is not only a demon, but also the notorious demon king said to kill without batting an eye, to be utterly wicked, and to be too vile for even the eighteenth level of hell to accept.
The greatest thing Chi Shao ever did was drag the lofty Archangel down from his so-called divine pedestal.
And then... he died.
He was soaked in bone-corroding water for more than ten days, forced to watch his skin and flesh slowly rot away, powerless to do anything but endure a pain worse than death.
But when he opened his eyes, he was reborn. And beside him was a System that never did anything useful and never would.
According to the System, after being reborn, Chi Shao had to help it complete a so-called mission: "Work hard to save yourself and avoid a tragic end."
In short, live another life, then shamelessly become his sworn enemy's pathetic lackey.
To Chi Shao, this was far worse than being left to rot in bone-corroding water.
It was deeply harmful and thoroughly humiliating.
And it was a completely one-sided exercise in asking to be beaten.
Chi Shao refused the System, went down the same path again, and died horribly once more.
The second time, the third, the fourth...
Every rebirth ended in a gruesome death.
Until one day, after the nth time he provoked his enemy to his face, Chi Shao, full of himself, suffered a crushing defeat that very night.
Then, bound hand and foot with his back against the cold wall, Chi Shao exchanged a humorless smile with the Archangel, who leisurely wound a demonic chain around his ankle.
Well, that went wonderfully. He'd really gone too far this time.
