Yu Li was in trouble. She stared at the “person” sitting on her sofa, eating her potato chips and watching her TV, and felt a headache coming on.
All it took was one spirit-summoning game for her to summon this “ghost,” who had latched onto her and taken over her home.
Although this ghost was always running his mouth, he was rather... ahem...
Were ghosts all this pretty and refined these days?
“My mom says that spending too much time around ghosts can affect your luck and bring you bad fortune.”
“Then should I stay farther away from you?”
As he spoke, the ghost moved exactly one inch farther away from her. Just one inch.
“I put up with you eating my snacks, but could you at least not sneak food when I’m having dinner?”
“But the food you make smells so good.”
“But food that a ghost has smelled tastes ‘dead’!!!”
Unable to resist the ghost’s pitiful gaze, his eyes like the vast cosmos and the clear blue sky, Yu Li still made him a serving of food every time after that.
Ever since that ghost started haunting her, Yu Li had encountered more and more strange things. She was forced to help the “ghosts” who came knocking for assistance, but she and the ghost made a pretty carefree life of it.
That is, until someone, supposedly acting in her best interests and without her knowledge, scattered the ghost who had been reborn from a gluttonous snake.
Her once peaceful, tranquil life suddenly left Yu Li confused. She had the feeling that her life wasn’t supposed to be like this, but everyone around her insisted that a calm, peaceful life was what suited her best.
The first-year students at Tokyo Jujutsu High knew that one of their seniors was lying in a room in the school infirmary. They had heard that the senior had been cursed by a Special Grade Cursed Spirit while on a mission, and had never woken up since.
That person held a very important place in their teacher’s heart. Whenever he had time, their teacher would go into the room and talk to the senior, who had not opened their eyes in years.
The senior’s condition was complicated. Their teacher had sought help from many people, but nothing had improved. As their breathing grew weaker and weaker, the senior had to be hooked up to an assortment of medical equipment.
One evening, Kugisaki was helping tidy up the room, which looked almost exactly like an intensive care unit at a hospital. As she approached the bed, she unexpectedly met the gaze of the heterochromatic eyes of the person lying there.
The message she sent to the group chat set off a frenzy, drawing over everyone who was still at Tokyo Jujutsu High.
The medical equipment finally stopped after years of running. Yu Li’s inner world collapsed, and she returned to this cruel world, one that was nonetheless filled with warmth and hope for her.
Like "I Picked Up a Cat," the two mainly deal with supernatural incidents together in the first half. The Jujutsu Kaisen cast only appears in the middle and later parts, haha.
Lots of original characters and settings.
