The third prince, Armand, had come of age and was to be formally crowned as the 1,998th heir to the Galactic Empire.
At the coronation ceremony, watched by countless people, no one knew
that the ancestral portrait, meant to be devoutly enshrined on the altar, had long since been switched by the Crown Prince himself.
The person depicted in the portrait was seated in the viewing area reserved exclusively for the White Tower's Chief Guide. Dressed in a plain black robe that clashed with the coronation attire, he had refined brows, downcast eyes, and a cool expression.
At some point, a bright white tail hook covered in fine scales slipped silently from beneath the Chief Guide's waterfall of silver hair and onto the altar at the coronation ceremony.
Hidden in the shadows, it gently poked the fluffy creature before it.
Ah! A big cat. I want to pet it!
A cat? What cat?
Xu Xu shared sensations with his spirit form and suddenly felt strange signals coming from his tail.
To ensure the coronation ceremony's safety, the Chief Guide dutifully released his psychic power and followed the neural pathways in his tail to investigate.
The moment he opened his eyes, he met a pair of golden, slit-pupiled eyes.
