[The blurb will keep being revised, but the central premise won't change.]
[Still deciding between My Life as an Orphanage Director and I Am Not Calamity...]
[This one will be put off for now. I want to improve my writing before I start.]
Chen Qianxing is a rich second-generation heir, a notorious spoiled brat among his peers. He's good at eating, drinking, and having fun, and his favorite pastime is driving his old man up the wall.
He becomes the unlucky one chosen to travel to a parallel world.
Beneath the Black Stairway, people who vanished from the real world appear here one after another. Their lives are on a countdown, while the natives take pride in slaughter.
Sheltered Chen Qianxing: ...
What should I do? I don't particularly want to live, but I guess I don't want to die just like that, either.
Before long, he becomes famous in both worlds.
[Parallel World]
A whip cracks across his spine, black water follows in his wake, and his bloodstained red clothes become a sign that calamity is coming.
Chen Qianxing spreads his hands, insisting he's innocent.
"All I did was kill a few things that weren't quite human or ghost, and take down a few troublemakers. How did I end up being called a calamity and a demon?"
The baby-faced young man complains, one leg crossed over the other, lounging without a care.
His companions: Do you really have no idea what you've done?
After seeing how he sits, his companions look away again.
Forget it. He's definitely someone you can't provoke or avoid.
[Real World]
Everyone thinks Chen Qianxing has nothing going for him but his looks: his personality, character, and abilities are all terrible.
Then Hope Orphanage appears in the public eye for the first time.
Only then does everyone realize that Chen Qianxing is the real madman.
But what no one expects is that this madman is a regular at the police station.
He gets so many commendation banners he can barely hold them all.
His dumbfounded friends watch Chen Qianxing being showered with praise. One of them points at him with a trembling finger and yells,
"Traitor!"
We agreed we'd all be spoiled brats together!
How come you're the one doing good deeds in secret?
An interview at Hope Orphanage:
"If the devil is the one who gives me a life without worries about food or clothing, then I'll be the devil's most devoted follower."
A friendly reminder:
1. The blurb may be a little abstract and will keep being revised before the story starts. Keywords: leveling up, another world. I want to write something fun, but I don't know if I can pull it off.
2. The story is told mainly from the young man's point of view.
3. I just remembered: unlike that other story about changing careers, this one will have male and female supporting characters with unrequited feelings for the protagonist. They won't necessarily be romantic; most will be special feelings like familial love, friendship, or admiration.
More details will be added before the story starts.
Theme: Stay true to yourself
