City of Ruins

Ming An met many women in her life, but only four left a lasting impression:

Su Ruizhu, her best friend when she was young;

Ji Youli, her enemy on the opposing side;

Xu Zhen, her little follower and adopted daughter;

Ming Muzeng, her assistant who quietly stayed by her side.

Betrayed by her friend, Ming An is cornered by death. To survive, she humbles herself before her enemy. Her enemy falls in love with her and saves her, but Ming An steals the technology that can reverse time and bring the dead back to life, then escapes to the “past.”

“Ruizhu, did you ever think of me as a friend? Or was it all just wishful thinking on my part from the start?”

Whenever Ming An recalls what happened in the “future,” she feels a strange ache in her heart. She chooses to break off her friendship with Ruizhu, adopts a group of orphans, and builds up her own forces to fight her powerful enemy.

Her adopted daughter, Xu Zhen, regards her as a god who must never be disobeyed, and is willing to die for her. Her assistant, Muzeng, carries out every order without ever saying much.

When Youli, her enemy from the future, also uses time-reversal technology to come before her, what fate awaits Ming An, surrounded by love and hate?
