In the thirty-seventh year since the Empire's star systems fell, Zhu Hai, a poor student in the occupied zone, found a damaged android with exposed wires and named it Astaga.
Zhu Hai thought she was lucky to have an android like this.
First, Astaga was energy-efficient and didn't cost much to run once it was repaired.
Second, it was good at housework and very considerate.

In short, it was a great deal.
Until one day, Zhu Hai came home from training to find no piping-hot dinner on the table. She searched the whole house, but Astaga was nowhere to be found.
Then she opened the wardrobe and saw Astaga buried among the clothes, his face flushed, hair tousled, beautiful ice-blue eyes glistening, his breathing hot and languid.
The moment he saw her, he sat up straight and blinked like a puppy. His eyes misty with tears, he leaned over to kiss her hand.
Smack. She slapped him, and he immediately burst into tears.
He was so intelligent he barely seemed like an android, so it was only natural that he had some functions that weren't very android-like.
When she looked down, Astaga was tentatively nibbling on the hand she hadn't pulled away, refusing to let go as he fussed and sniffled. His behavior was no different from an alpha trying to court someone.

In the second year of living in the rental, Zhu Hai, dressed in rags, led a new team from the occupied zone to victory in the interstellar competition.
In the third year, she left everything in the rental behind, including the android who had grown increasingly clingy.
When the Empire's general's mech, frozen on an eternal winter planet, roared back to life, Zhu Hai climbed into her battle armor and returned to the battlefield, determined to fight the SSS-class superintelligence "Mermaid."
Amid the mech's iron and blood, Mermaid, who had never shown himself, placed a temporary call to her mech.
Zhu Hai answered suspiciously. The monitor showed nothing but static, and then a painfully familiar voice rang in her headphones, full of sorrow and grievance.
"You deceitful liar who seduced me and then abandoned me," he said sadly. "I'm going to kill you."
"I am the man-made sea of an ice-free port, and you are the cyber-mermaid who ventures alone to a deserted island."
