Dramatic Daily Life from North to South

[Blurb]

At the turn of the millennium, two decades of sweeping reform and opening up had brought rapid economic growth, a steady increase in layoffs, and a restless mood among the people.

The young people of JiajI Coal Mine couldn't stand apart from these changes. They were swept into the tide of the times.

A newcomer moved into the workers' dormitory. For some reason, everyone avoided him. Only Chen Qiu, who had been there for two years, showed him kindness.

Back then, Chen Qiu didn't yet know that kind people get taken advantage of. By the time he found out, it was too late!

Li Xibai was a delusional chuunibyou who was obsessed with acting like a gang boss (not really). Tired of listening to his mother's nagging, he moved into the workers' dormitory. He thought no one would bother him there, but someone brought him medicine when he was injured, and left a light on for him at night.

When his heart stirred, he acted on it. The more he looked, the more it seemed that the other guy liked him too.

Top's perspective: At first, he treated my wounds and didn't even charge me. Was he trying to suck up to me?

Later, he still wouldn't take my money, and told me to get lost. He must like me.

Bottom's perspective: At first, I thought it was best to avoid the strange newcomer who's always getting hurt.

Later, I told him to take the money and get lost, and he said he liked me. Well, that's nice.

Chen Qiu's life was turned upside down. One day, he stood over a fallen punk, holding a club, and exchanged a look with Li Xibai. The next second, they were running away. Chen Qiu was overwhelmed with complicated feelings. How had an ordinary worker like him ended up in a situation like this?!

Simply put, it's the everyday story of two people fighting crime and protecting the innocent.

Self-deluding, straightforward top x kindhearted, saintly bottom

They only need to believe in the light as they make their way from a small town to the big city.
