After Faking My Death, the Supreme Lord of the Demonic Path Went Mad

I transmigrate into a cultivation-romance novel and the System assigns me the task of winning over the supreme ruler of the demonic path.

A year later, I stare at a progress bar stuck at 80 percent and finally decide to give up.

Me: My body's had enough. I don't want to do this anymore.

System: Then what do you want to do?

Me: Fake my death?

System: Don't! You're just a little short of success.

Me: Yeah, right. I'm out of here!

Three years later, after living a life of extravagant spending, I've finally decided to take a couple of days off, only to be captured by a group of wicked rogue cultivators.

The rogue cultivators point at me. "I hear the demonic path is into keeping doubles these days. This female cultivator would be perfect to sell to the Supreme Ruler's estate."

Me: ...

System: Hahaha, I told you there was no escaping!

(A deranged supreme ruler of the demonic path x a fluffy little fox spirit)
