Jin Shiye was a hardcore gamer. She died fighting against the Empire in a war.
Just before she died, she received an invitation from the most mysterious of all infinite games, [Sandbox].
[This is Sandbox, a realm where miracles are made manifest, a utopia for believers, and a martyr's garden for wanderers.]
[Do you want to leave? Pledge your loyalty to the gods, or become one of them.]
Jin Shiye could only spread her hands helplessly and look at her new friends. "Hey, hey, hey, this is what they asked for."
And so...
The "bride," who should have been trapped in the plot and burned as a sacrifice again and again, chose to cast off her bloodstained wedding dress, raise a blade, and point it at the despicable person giving the orders.
The "figurine," who should have been turned into a display piece and kept alive for the world to gawk at, chose to break free of the display case and fight for the right to live with dignity.
The "toy," who should have been made into a commodity and passed among violent men for their pleasure, escaped alongside the others, carrying the grief and tears of their dead friends and relatives as they defended their right to live.
The newly arrived wanderers would pull the believers trapped at the bottom of society out of their cages and tell them:
"This is Sandbox, an exhibition hall of miracles, a martyr's garden for the dead, and a utopia for the living."
"Welcome, welcome to the new world."
In the old world, believers said that the new wanderer, Jin Shiye, was nothing but a weapon:
cruel, violent, a breaker of rules, a menace to her own kind, and anathema to the gods.
Jin Shiye never denied it. She simply carried her blade, donned her armor, and smashed through layer upon layer of confinement until she stood face-to-face with the "gods."
In that moment, warm sunlight blazed like a roaring fire, lighting the road to the gods before her.
In that moment, hymns rang out in every inhabited corner of the world.
"If being reborn means only being imprisoned by rules, living like an ant, a pet, or a toy, then it would be better not to be born at all."
"You and I are all human, born equal."
"May light shine into every corner of Sandbox."
[Reader's Guide]
1. I'm a hardworking office worker who tries to update daily. Before the story goes premium, I'll follow the rankings; after that, I'll update twice a day. If I really can't write or get buried under overtime, I'll take a break and make up the chapters later!
2. The story leans toward an ensemble cast, with an all-female team of five. They aren't perfect or universally adored; they'll have flaws.
3. The story leans toward horror. The settings for the instances range from the Middle Ages to the modern era, or have a fairy-tale feel. The original setting is an infinite game.
4. The male lead is a native who was rescued, and is somewhat of a background character.
5. Please, please, I know this is a niche genre. Give me a little love in the comments, sob!
Theme: Face fear head-on, break through it, and find a new life.
