A hundred years ago, a perfume called "Bottled Hell" was created. It drove people wild with desire and established Ciel d’Or’s place in the fashion world.
Today, a century later, the formula for Bottled Hell has long since been lost. Ciel d’Or has fallen from its former heights, and has decided to gather the world’s most exceptional perfumers and entrust them with an important mission: recreate Bottled Hell, reshape the industry, and reverse the company’s decline.
Jiang Mingzheng was lured to the perfume development department with a generous salary, where she set out to recreate Bottled Hell using her talent for perfumery.
At a loss for what to do, she met a man on a rainy London street. The moment they brushed past each other, inspiration struck.
From then on, Jiang Mingzheng forced her way into Ji Yingzhou’s life.
Under the pretense of pursuing him, she settled into a home across from his villa, hoping to analyze the scent on him using every technique at her disposal.
Ji Yingzhou coldly turned her away, yet every morning he saw the breakfast she had sent over, followed by a stream of little gifts and all sorts of bottles and jars to help him sleep.
Everything Jiang Mingzheng did was for the sake of recreating Bottled Hell. It was a straightforward exchange of benefits: she gave Ji Yingzhou plenty of emotional support and cured his insomnia with fragrances, including a sleep-inducing scent she blended for him every night.
After the perfume was successfully developed, she packed her bags overnight, thrilled to be moving out.
But she found Ji Yingzhou blocking the doorway in the middle of the night. His handsome face was marred by dark circles, and his eyes were bloodshot. "When you leave, I can't sleep."
"I already gave you the formula for the sleep scent."
"It doesn't work. I can't sleep when you're not by my side."
