Song He, a student who was bullied at school, is questioned by the police after the bully is murdered and becomes their prime suspect.
But as the police investigate, more and more truths and clues come to light: an illicit relationship between a teacher and a student, a high school student's accidental pregnancy, bribery and corruption, and the death of a suspect. Even after the police rule Song He out, he still has secrets of his own. It seems an unseen hand is controlling the case's direction, all the way until Song He clears his name.
Xi Nanhui uses Song He's secret to blackmail him, and the two become lovers. Just as Song He thinks he can fool the police, and his cold heart is gradually warmed by Xi Nanhui, he has no idea that everything is an equal exchange, with fate having already secretly put a price on it all.
