Me and My Six Scandal-Plagued Bandmates

Lan Yuan joins a talent show and falls for the gentle, dependable mentor who looks after him like an older brother.

The good news is that the mentor feels the same way about him. The bad news is that Lan Yuan earns a spot in the debut lineup and becomes an official idol.

And an idol dating is widely considered a career-ending scandal. Lan Yuan is troubled by this, until he discovers that every member of this limited-time group has dirt on them that cannot be scrubbed away:

The center slept with executives and used underhanded tactics to climb to the top;

The third member has twenty partners, both men and women;

The fourth member's parents took part in fraud, while the member enjoyed countless benefits from it;

The fifth knowingly pursued a young, wealthy heiress while being the other woman in a relationship;

The sixth has the most scandalous record, dabbling in sex, gambling, and drugs, and is even implicated in a murder;

The seventh, the group's eldest member, secretly married his childhood sweetheart back home and had a child with her before joining the show.

Yet on debut night, not one of these scandals had been exposed...

Lan Yuan realizes that his goal has changed.

Instead of "I mustn't get canceled and drag my teammates down," it's now "I mustn't get dragged down by teammates whose scandals are even worse than mine." And so begins a newly debuted idol's fight to survive and win back fans amid a chain of his teammates' scandalous headlines!

To that end, Lan Yuan decides to seek advice from a former member of a limited-time group who has been through something similar: his unrequited love, Qi Xinchen.

☆

Lan Yuan x Qi Xinchen

Pure and spotless (?), the sarcastic straight man x the chaos-loving instigator

Cold on the outside, soft on the inside gong x deceptively sweet, then dark, then sweet again shou; the younger one is four years younger; mutual pining; a wholesome, healthy romance

Set in a fictional Chinese entertainment industry. A delightfully wicked idol romance. The main story begins on debut night.
