After Arriving On The Island, He Was Targeted by a Yandere Mermaid

Merfolk have been exceptional hunters since ancient times. Their lives are nearly eternal, and they reign proudly over the islands.

Yet they are devoted to humans. They believe every promise made in a moment of passion until they discover they've been betrayed. Then they drag their beloved into the depths and die with them.

This love, so fiercely obsessive yet so pure, is the sole price their creator exacted for granting merfolk supreme strength and beauty.

Hei Luling is the last of his kind. When he sensed Cen Xi arrive on the island, he decided it was time to enter his mating season.

So he pretended to be captured by the researchers at the island's research base, just as he wished, so he could meet Cen Xi.

Hei Luling's golden, slit-pupiled eyes fixed on Cen Xi, as though beginning the most primal hunt.

In the merfolk language passed down through generations, the words for prey and lover are the same. Once they choose their target, they pursue it until death.

An island that had been missing for thousands of years reappeared, and humans established a research base there, recruiting researchers from all over.

Cen Xi was one of them, but he didn't know that a merfolk had fixed its eyes on him the moment he set foot on the island.

Three years after appearing, the mysterious island vanished again without warning.

The entire research base and every human on the island vanished along with it.
