“I like the sea, vast and boundless, with a beauty that embraces everything,” Yukimura Seiichi said with a gentle smile as he gazed at the girl before him.
Narumi Mone agreed. “The waves are like nature's dance.” She thought to herself: As expected of Yukimura-senpai. The ocean covers 71% of the Earth's surface. Geographically speaking, he really does have a grand perspective.
She failed to notice the focused look in the boy's eyes or the smile on his face.

“I admire him. I've always wanted to become someone like him...”
Narumi Mone wrote these words in her diary. The image of that boy appeared in her mind: the figure bounding across the tennis court beneath the sunset, the back of him laughing and chatting amid a crowd of classmates, her goal, as surging and powerful as the boundless sea: Yukimura Seiichi.
She continued writing: “I long to get closer to him, and even more, to surpass him, so that he will remember me.”

Beneath a moon bright in a sparse field of stars, the sea shimmered silver in the moonlight. Narumi Mone crouched down and traced circles in the water with her hand. Suddenly, a mischievous impulse struck her. She scooped up a handful of water and splashed the boy beside her.
“Mone,” the boy said with a smile in his voice, his iris-colored eyes fixed on the bright smile of the girl before him.
Then he crouched down too, brushed a strand of moon-white hair away from Narumi Mone's cheek, and left a gentle kiss.
A faint sea breeze stirred their clothes, and the distant trees swayed. Today was another peaceful day.
