A slightly masochistic, brawny male veterinarian x a strong-willed female sales manager
Yao Sili moved south to make a name for herself, expecting to find success in both love and work. Instead, she suddenly discovers she's been made the other woman: her ex-boyfriend is married. Then she is verbally humiliated in the street. At thirty, Yao Sili feels increasingly lost at this turning point in her life. Unable to bear the betrayal and her own guilt, she decides to throw caution to the wind.
After a business dinner, she accidentally walks into the wrong room and meets Qi Fei, a male veterinarian. Their one-night fling lets her completely let go. She had assumed all men were like her ex, the type to leave without a second thought, but Qi Fei unexpectedly demands that she take responsibility.
The two agree to remain owner and pet until they each find someone they truly like. But the dog wants to rise in rank: he gets jealous, throws tantrums, and rolls around begging for pets. Qi Fei is sure that sooner or later he'll win Yao Sili over, and get promoted to the position he wants.
Yao Sili reaches out and pats his cheek. "Qi Fei, can't you tell I'm just messing with you?"
Qi Fei drops to one knee and kisses her palm. "Manager Yao, you're the only one I'm willing to let mess with me. Don't you understand what I mean?"
