Resilient little sunshine: universally hated at first, then adored by everyone x outwardly honey-tongued and secretly venomous, hopelessly love-struck wife-doting husband
Genius perfumer x real estate tycoon
Herlan (Helliconius) Melpomene x Molf Helena
The renowned perfumer Herlan was framed. The fragrance she used in a competition caused an allergic reaction in a judge, and she was stripped of her right to work as a perfumer and permanently expelled from the industry. Then she was in a car accident, and woke up in the body of the “crippled” second daughter of a powerful insectoid family.
Ever since the second daughter failed to spread her wings at her eighteenth birthday ceremony, she had become the laughingstock of high society. Her father didn't care for her and her mother didn't love her. Recently, she had even been used as a bargaining chip to build ties between powerful families, and married to Molf Helena, a newly risen tycoon in the real estate business.
Miss Helena was young, handsome, and already in control of a real estate empire. But she suffered from a serious illness, which was said to be hereditary. Despite being in the prime of her life, no one wanted to marry her. The only family willing to join with hers was the Melpomene family, who loved wealth and power and didn't care for their “crippled” daughter.
After hearing the news, the original owner swallowed a bottle of poison and left the world, leaving Herlan, a wandering soul, to take her place.
System: Before she died, the original owner was mocked for her disability and for marrying a sickly person. Her resentment is now so deep that she cannot be reincarnated. Host, you must work hard to dispel her resentment so she can move on to the next life.
Herlan: All right! I'll make Herlan Melpomene the most amazing person ever, and make everyone who mocked her regret it!
And so Herlan:
Went on variety shows and won fans, making the original owner's parents see her in a new light;
Founded a perfume company and took the Herlan brand worldwide;
And fulfilled the original owner's dream of spreading her wings. The insectoid people witnessed the longest wingspan in history...
Molf: Whose amazing little butterfly is this?
Herlan: Yours! (pounces)
Reader's guide:
1. One-on-one romance, both leads are each other's one and only.
2. The male lead is 25 when he appears, and the female lead is 23.
3. An insectoid story with lots of original worldbuilding. There are female insects (women), sub-females (hermaphrodites), and male insects (men), but sub-females and male insects will have almost no part in the story, so read without worry. Insectoids usually appear in human form, occasionally showing small insect traits like antennae or scales. When in great danger, they can take on a half-insect, half-human or full-insect form. Insectoids have pheromones, but in this story they are only useful for romance and mating. For details, see the story.
4. In this otherworld, women can marry and have children together. The author is still deciding whether the leads will have children in the future.
5. Their species are the blue morpho butterfly (Morpho Helena) and the postman butterfly (Heliconius melpomene), respectively. Their names are transliterations of their English names.
