The most talked-about and strongest rookie this season looks just like the league's long-lost white moonlight player, who retired and vanished two years ago.

Everyone knows it, but no one has ever dared to bring it up.

Until the summer regular season ends, and Lian Zhou is assigned to interview Serein, the top-tier star of the new generation.

In front of the live cameras, she stares at his face, so familiar it could belong to someone else, and calls him by another name in a daze: "Thank you for accepting the interview, player Morpho..."

That night, the topics "Official League Host's Slip of the Tongue" and "The Competitive Gaming World Has Its Own Wanwan Lookalike" top the trending list. Close behind is "Serein's Black Profile Picture."

Netizens deliver their verdict: Wanwan's brokenhearted.

Lian Zhou feels terrible and asks IR's mid laner for Serein's contact information.

Mid laner: He said he doesn't add strangers.

Lian Zhou: Okay, never mind then.

Five minutes later.

Mid laner: He said it's not like he absolutely can't add you.

Later, during an IR match, play is paused for some reason. The director pans across the audience and, by chance, catches a face that hasn't been heard from in a long time: Morpho.

The venue erupts. Lian Zhou is urgently sent to interview the league's unanimously adored white moonlight.

That night, "Morpho, the Original Has Returned" sits at the top of the trending list. Close behind it is another all-too-familiar "Serein's Black Profile Picture."

Netizens deliver their verdict: Wanwan's heartbroken again.

In the dim back area of the arena, Lian Zhou is grabbed around the waist and shoved against a wall, her shoulder aching from the impact.

The other person's breathing trembles. He can't say a word. His tightly pressed lips slowly draw closer, then pause for a long time, ultimately stopping half an inch away.

Their breaths mingle, their lashes almost touch, and he trembles like a trapped beast.

Lian Zhou gently strokes the back of his neck.

Her vision suddenly blurs, as if warm rain has fallen on her eyelashes.
