Xie Ruan was born with a cursed streak of bad luck. He died and his soul vanished, then closed his eyes and opened them again to find he had become a mentor-level Mary Sue romance System.

Lifelong single Xie Ruan: "I'm great at teaching romance. Three-day crash course!"

Three days later, the romance progress was crawling along. The two Systems collided, and the Mary Sue story became a speedrun through an infinite-flow nightmare.

Instance 1: The Mourner's Funeral

Late at night, sacred hymns often descend upon East Third Teaching Building. Anyone who hears them becomes a believer and turns into a man-eating monster.

Host: "I'm a believer."

Powerful System Qin Chu: "I'm the lead singer in the choir."

Xie Ruan looked at his identity card. "...Am I the only lost soul hated by the gods?"

Saving the Host hurts his performance rating. Abandoning the Host adds to his years of service.

Who'd want this lousy job? Fine, I'll do it.

All it takes is for a lost soul to tread through burning hellfire, burn the gods, and carve a path with his blood.

Instance 2: Farewell Roses

The roses in the garden beneath the apartment building were lush and vivid, their petals sharply defined, and the air was thick with the smell of blood.

Host: "I'm a girl living alone."

Powerful System Qin Chu: "I'm a painter back in town for a short stay."

Xie Ruan stared numbly at the rose that had appeared out of nowhere by his door. "? Wait, it's got its eye on me again? I'm just a brand-new System, okay!"

Instance 3: Village Sacrifice

After endless targeting and countless obstacles, Xie Ruan finally recovered the password to his main account.

The hotel instance lay dimly lit. He stood in the middle of the corridor with an axe in hand, eyes lowered, fingertips stroking the blade. With casual ease, he chopped off a monster's head, splattering himself with blood.

After wiping off the blood, Xie Ruan turned to Qin Chu and sneered. "What, do you need a kiss as a reward? My dear boyfriend, who's also my enemy?"

Qin Chu had spent years undercover at the System company, earning the title of senior executive A02. He infiltrated the small worlds solely to bring down the enigmatic godlike being at the top.

But the Host had a System bound to him, too.

Every thought showed plainly on his face. He was innocent and guileless, looked soft and fluffy, and seemed like he'd be nice to pet.

At first, Qin Chu thought there was no harm in keeping an eye on him and looking after him a little.

Later, the boyfriend he'd doted on with all his heart kissed him with blood at the corner of his mouth, while the knife in his hand crept toward Qin Chu's heart.
