Qiao Qiao glanced at the man in the patient gown beside her and twitched her mouth. He said he wasn't crazy, but what sane person would think like that?

This mental patient was just like a drunk:

He was the first person she saw when she opened her eyes: a handsome young man with delicate features.

If not for his patient gown and the ID tag on his chest, Qiao Qiao would never have guessed that something was wrong with his head.

“Who am I? Do you know me?”

He stood by the bed, blocking the harsh light from the window. “Qiao Qiao.”

Shen Xici pointed to her ID tag.

Never mind, it turned out he was a fellow patient.

But the hospital was deserted, and the sealed-off elevator was the only exit.

An announcement sounded over the building's speakers.

“Welcome to the Escape Tower. Find the key to proceed to the next floor. Please escape within the allotted time, or this floor will collapse.”

The mechanical voice cut out when the magnetic field interfered. Then it started up again amid a piercing electronic whine.

“The game begins. Good luck.”

Content warnings:

1. Essential reading guide: This is not a story about two equally powerful leads. The scenarios all serve the main plot, not the creation of a strong female lead. The male lead's “cleverness” early on foreshadows later developments. Stick with it until the second scenario and you'll understand. This is definitely not a story about an all-powerful male lead.
