This is the story of an ordinary person who meets a gloomy, troubled person. They get together briefly, break up and make up several times, and finally get a happy ending.

When Fu Huan was fifteen, she read a cultivation novel. It featured a villain, Xie Nizhi, who was pitiful as a child and hateful as an adult, but Fu Huan wasn't interested in her. Then Fu Huan opened her eyes again and found herself in the world of the book.
Fifteen might be a little late to begin cultivating, but Fu Huan was exceptionally talented and handsome. Her master doted on her, and her senior sister looked after her.
At the time, Xie Nizhi was still a lowly disciple, overlooked and bullied by everyone in the sect.
The pitiable young villain from the book had become real before her eyes: gloomy, insecure, pitiful, and helpless.
Fu Huan furrowed her willow brows, remembering the scene in the book where Xie Nizhi massacred the sect in the future. She shuddered. Though she wasn't particularly interested in Xie Nizhi, perhaps she could earn some goodwill now, so Xie Nizhi might spare her life out of consideration for their past when the time came.
And so Fu Huan spent most of her time enjoying the affection of everyone in the sect, and occasionally dropping by to "show some kindness" to Xie Nizhi. It was a pretty comfortable life. But one day, she blinked and found herself back in the modern world.
When she returned to the world of the book, three hundred years had passed, though only three years had gone by for Fu Huan.
Three hundred years might not seem long to a cultivator, but Xie Nizhi had changed too much. She wasn't as gloomy as before, but all that gloom seemed to have turned into ruthlessness, and all her insecurity had become cold arrogance.
The boy who used to walk hunched over had become powerful and cold, behaving like a madwoman. Xie Nizhi had truly become the great villain from the book.
But as their eyes met, Xie Nizhi seemed to remember those painful, degrading experiences from her youth...
