Story Blurb

Cheng Qi'an was bored out of his mind as a ghost. On his seventh day as one, he witnessed a scene that nearly turned a suicide into a murder, and decided to see how it would end. He clung to the back of the man trying to die and followed him home.

The man couldn't accept that his lover was dead, and began seeking out spiritual masters.

After being swindled once, he really did meet a genuine "master." After a whole series of rituals, Cheng Qi'an realized that he was the man's lover. He remembered everything...

But what was the price of defying the laws of nature? The "master" said he wanted money.

Years later, Cheng Qi'an learned he'd been deceived. The "master" hadn't wanted money, but a life, a lifespan.

Lin Qi's lover died, supposedly by drowning while saving someone. In unbearable pain, he tried to end his life by the lake where his lover had died, but was rescued.

After that, Lin Qi began noticing strange things around him: a chill that suddenly enveloped his whole body, a little dog barking at empty air...

All these strange events stirred a secret hope and wishful thinking in his heart. He hired a spiritual master, but the man was a fraud.

Still, heaven had heard his prayers. One day, a man wearing a Zhongshan suit moved into his apartment complex. He said he made his living dealing with the dead.

Before long, Lin Qi learned he hadn't been lying.

Lin Qi made a deal with him, saw his dead lover, and kept him by his side. In this life, they would pass away together; in the next, their bond would endure.
