Wen Ren Yu loved eating fish from a young age, until her dad became a fishing fanatic.
For the sake of fishing, he could get up at three in the morning to claim a good spot, sit by the river for a whole day and night, feed a whole swarm of mosquitoes with his blood, and, after catching a strange bone and reporting it to the police, calmly cast his line again and sit back down to fish...
Wen Ren Yu: I want to see for myself what's so fun about fishing.
On her very first fishing trip, beginner's luck gave Wen Ren Yu a giant fish. She refused to let go, only to be dragged into the river instead.
She fell into a ditch, but was hauled out of the sea. As Wen Ren Yu stared at the person in front of her with webbing between their toes (?), she began to question her life.
This is a world after a great catastrophe. Seawater has swallowed 99.9 percent of the planet's land, and the survivors live aboard enormous ships. Supplies are scarce, and most food comes from the sea.
Yet the ocean has grown even more mysterious and unpredictable since the disaster. Most marine life has mutated, becoming vicious and terrifying, and difficult to catch. Humanity struggles to survive on the open sea.
More than twenty years ago, some of the third-generation shipborn began growing webbed feet and gills, better suited to life at sea. People called them Evolutionaries.
Wen Ren Yu, landlubber, transmigrator, primitive human, fish: ...
Can I transmigrate back if I starve to death?
Fortunately, before she could starve, Wen Ren Yu discovered her golden finger: an innate buff that meant a fishing fanatic would never come home empty-handed!
Give her a fishing rod, and she can fish anything out of the ocean.
Mutant fish, giant crabs, lobsters, and sea snails are all welcome.
Want vegetables? Seaweed, nori, and sea mushrooms.
But... Seriously, everyone, who would have thought you could fish up treasure chests, jewelry, and even gemstones from the ocean?
