Hua Jiu, a powerful cultivator who was supposed to ascend to the upper realm, is inexplicably dragged into a bizarre game. According to the System's instructions, she has to survive three nights in a rundown house on the wasteland.
Hua Jiu: That's it?
Guided by the friendly spirit of a land of propriety, she has a brief, noisy chat with the disgruntled locals, then tosses a rag to a ghost in mourning clothes. "Please clean up the house. My standards aren't high. Just get it as clean as you are."
Then she turns to the murderer holding a chainsaw. "That tool of yours looks pretty handy. See that patch of woods to the east? Go chop some firewood, thanks."
Three days later, the crumbling, spine-chilling house is sparkling clean. The wasteland outside has been completely transformed, and the land has been plowed, ready for planting. The System announces that Hua Jiu has successfully cleared the level and should proceed to the next one.
Hua Jiu: I'm not leaving. I'm tired, and I happen to feel like farming and enjoying retirement. This place seems great: peaceful, and the staff are talented, obedient, and very versatile. They can stay, too.
The monsters, worked to the bone in every possible way: ...
At some point, a legend began circulating among players of the bizarre game.
If you're lucky, you might enter a paradise in one of the levels. There's no bloodshed or killing, just a hopeful, peaceful field, a three-story inn, a landlady with dimples when she smiles, and a black cat named Cang Gou that can talk.
As long as you do what the landlady says, she'll protect you. Some players even get special rewards from her, allowing them to summon her in other levels.
One player who saw it with their own eyes excitedly declared, "The landlady came out and knocked the boss into the ground with two punches. You believe that?! Before we could even react, she'd taken the monster away with her. She said it makes it rain whenever it cries, so she was taking it back to water the fields."
Other players: Water the fields? I still think you're making this up. That's ridiculous.
Hua Jiu: My seedlings seem a little thirsty. Rain Woman, could you go cry in the fields? Go on your own, okay? Don't make me slap you first thing in the morning. Thanks~
The Rain Woman, covered in bruises and sobbing: ...You're surprisingly polite.
