Mistaken Identity

The story is told in third person. (First draft of the blurb written on August 19, 2024.)

I signed up for a gym, and my personal trainer was a super cool, super handsome woman.

She carefully coached me through the exercises, encouraged me when I said I couldn't do it, and even treated me to coffee after our workout.

She even called me "big sis."

I was so smitten. I started feeling confident, thinking she was into me.

But when I got home that day, I received a WeChat message from her: "Sis, do me a favor. I need to hit my sales target by the end of the month."

There's only one character's difference between "big sis" and "sis," but the difference between them is enormous.

Tsk. What a letdown.

Today at the gym, I ran into the senior I'd had a crush on. I worked up the courage to approach her and became her personal trainer for a month, for free. I coached her through the exercises, worked out with her, and treated her to coffee afterward.

I called her "big sis." Her heart raced and she blushed. I thought I had a chance.

I wanted to ask her out to a movie, but when I messaged her that night, she'd blocked me.

Heh. Now that's interesting.

Theme: Be confident, but don't be blindly confident.
