After Pulling the Pain-Free Miracle Doctor from His Pedestal

Also known as Reborn to Fall in Love with the Pain-Insensitive Physician Venerable. A story about a gong gradually discovering that his wife is a formidable powerhouse, then pursuing her. Younger gong and shou, both strong, with a teacher-student relationship and an intense wife-pursuit arc.

Prologue

Born without the ability to feel pain, Jiang Chenshu was considered a monster from childhood and abandoned in a lonely city.

He devoted himself to medicine and traveled everywhere to treat the sick, hoping to find pain in his patients and learn what it felt like.

At six, he was all alone and barely escaped a plague-stricken city. At fourteen, despite his frail health, he founded the Heavenly Physician Sect and became the Great Han's foremost physician venerable.

Some called him an immortal, others a demon, but the half-baked judge of the Hall of Death said he was no different from an ordinary person with a cold.

That man rescued him from prison, gathered the first snow for him, and drank strong liquor with him as they discussed life and death. He left Jiang Chenshu utterly unsettled, only to wake him from his dream with a marriage contract, saying that what he called love was nothing but pity for him.

Jiang Chenshu returned to the Heavenly Physician Sect in resentment and continued being its cold-faced physician venerable.

Unexpectedly, that man traveled a thousand miles to find him and endured humiliation to become his disciple, just to see him again.

When disaster struck the sect and Jiang Chenshu was slandered, bleeding without end, Chu Chiyue wept bitterly, scarcely able to hold back his tears.

Jiang Chenshu smiled and wiped them away. “Why are you crying? I can't feel pain.”

Chu Chiyue held him tight and cried even harder. “I'm in pain. My heart hurts...”

Gong's point of view:

In his previous life, Chu Chiyue abandoned medicine for the law and died protecting a witness. In this life, he is reborn as the Great Han's foremost judge, with power in his hands. All he wants is to travel with flowers and wine, kill every criminal, and live a life of carefree abandon.

For that purpose, he built an impregnable prison, waiting for the villains to fall into his hands.

But when he first saw the cool, otherworldly miracle doctor in his prison, he couldn't look away.

He broke countless rules for Jiang Chenshu and did everything he could to earn a sliver of his favor. But seeing him risk his life for him, he regretted dragging an immortal down to the mortal world.

He used a marriage contract with a princess to sever their bond, but he couldn't sever his own heart or legs.

Through the endless night, he knelt on the stone steps of the Heavenly Physician Sect, just to find out whether Jiang Chenshu was sleeping peacefully.

Jiang Chenshu is fragile white porcelain in the palm of his hand. He is destined to protect him and give him a lifetime of peace.

-----A little scene as “improper” as the gong-----

At the Heavenly Physician Sect, the moonlight deepened and red candles flickered. Pheasants paired off, a scene of perfect harmony, yet the window of the master's room showed the shadows of two people entwined.

Jiang Chenshu backed away a few steps and glared at the man in embarrassment and anger.

“Chu Chiyue, I'm sick! I have an insensitivity to pain. No matter what you do to me, I won't feel a thing!”

He picked up a short sword and threatened him. “Take one more step and I'll... I'll stab myself!”

Chu Chiyue rubbed his nose. “Should I leave, then?”

“...”

He watched Chu Chiyue leave, then lowered his sword, reluctance lingering in his eyes.

But before he could recover, the man who had pretended to leave hugged him from behind. The pity in his dark, solemn eyes turned into a sigh. “But I don't want you to hurt. I only want you to be happy.”

“If you let me take a bite, I'll be happy!” Jiang Chenshu shoved up his sleeve and bit hard into his flesh.

Chu Chiyue immediately yelped in pain, on the verge of tears. “Darling, you can't feel pain, but I can!”

2. The shou's condition means he simply cannot feel pain.
