Messages from Afar

Wang Yuansheng is thirty years old. His parents have passed away, and he has a younger brother living abroad.

On his thirtieth birthday, he returned to his old hometown, where he had never lived before.

An old Daoist told him that a lonely ghost had been haunting him for ten years.

It chattered away every day, until one day, when Wang returned to Beishi for a follow-up appointment at the hospital, the doctor called out to him. For the first time, the ghost didn't speak to him in its usual cheerful tone. Instead, a spreading aura of death surged over him like a tide and swallowed him whole.

It said, "Don't look back."

Wang Yuansheng, don't look back.

Theme: Don't look back. Reality is cruel, so keep looking forward.
