At dawn, Lin Yi slowly opened his eyes. The other side of the bed was empty, and tear tracks still marked the corners of his eyes. He had no idea when he had fallen asleep. He only remembered that yesterday was his birthday. He had worked himself to the bone and rushed back from out of town so he could celebrate with Ai Chen. He never expected to find Ai Chen in bed with another man. Lin Yi had a huge fight with Ai Chen and kicked them both out. He cried and cried until he eventually fell asleep. Looking at the mess scattered across the floor, and the cake that had fallen when he dropped it in shock, Lin Yi covered his eyes with his arm, but the tears kept flowing. His heart was breaking, and he felt like he was going insane. He thought that three years ago, he should have wished he had never met Ai Chen. Then he wouldn't have been hurt all over again.
