A note up front: This is a work of fantasy, a very, very short story with no more than 10 chapters in the main text and 15 chapters in total! The pairing is bizarre, and the plot is outrageous, so welcome, readers! It’s sweet at first, then a little angsty later. The story is set in a fictional world, and some of the mental-health information in it is inaccurate. The treatment is basically fictional too, so please take it all with a grain of salt.
In her senior year of high school, He Sui met an older girl named Xiao He. Xiao He helped her study every day and saw her through that difficult time. Before she knew it, He Sui had fallen in love with her. The day her acceptance letter arrived, He Sui confessed.
A year later... she showed Xiao He’s photo to her dorm friends.
Roommate: “I hear you talk about your girlfriend every day, but I’ve never seen her.”
He Sui: “Um... well, this time I can show you a photo.”
After looking at the photo:
Roommate: “He Sui... are you... delirious with a fever or something?”
“...There’s only you in this photo...”
A sunny, upbeat young woman and her reserved, shy, top-student older girlfriend, whom she imagined.
“I Fell in Love with Her After Developing Dissociative Identity Disorder”
There are quite a few bugs in this story. If you have any thoughts, please leave a comment. Thank you! I’m deeply grateful!
Theme: We should view every kind of love properly and not stubbornly insist that it is impossible to love certain things.
The eyes that look at the birds in the middle of the night 😭
Xiao He is a vampire??
