This Is Rome! So Anything Can Happen

As the first emperor of the Roman Empire, Octavian's life would have been less perfect without a son. But at least he had a daughter, right?

Since her womb was crucial to the political stability of the entire state, Julia was regarded as a vital asset.

This situation gave the aristocratic men of Rome's upper classes, and even powerful princes abroad, some interesting ideas.

What if they could marry into the family and rise straight to the top?

To prevent outsiders from taking advantage, Octavian carefully chose Julia's husbands.

Her first was her cousin. He had a chaotic private life, so Julia was forced to marry him. In a fit of anger, she had an affair with her stepbrother, Tiberius.

Tiberius, described in the history books as cruel, lustful, and cold-blooded, was still an innocent young man when his stepsister seduced him.

Though they were kept apart, he dreamed of earning military honors, winning his stepfather's favor, marrying the girl he loved, and rising to the pinnacle of success.

He was a gifted military commander, and Agrippa, commander-in-chief of the Roman army and Augustus's close friend, considered him the next leader of the forces.

But after her first husband, Julia was married off by the old man to Agrippa.

After barely escaping death on the battlefield and making it back, Tiberius found his lover had become his mother-in-law. “...”

So had he just been a plaything for that father and daughter all along?!

Some events differ slightly from real history.
