The Agasa Family’s Book of Friends

After a monster came to repay a debt of gratitude by turning Natsume into a child, he was worrying about how to explain it to Dr. Agasa when they got home, when the high school detective next door unexpectedly turned into a child too.

After the great detective's deductions, Shinichi asked, "Were you also given some unknown drug by the Black Organization?"

Natsume: "Yeah..."

In everyone's eyes, Natsume was a slightly strange child.

For example, he was always talking to the air, and seeing things that didn't exist in reality.

At first, everyone thought there was nothing wrong with that, until

On a Wednesday, someone asked Natsume, "What day is it today?"

Natsume: "Monday."

Dr. Agasa picked up the phone and called a psychiatrist. "I think something's wrong with my kid's perception!"

After he was diagnosed with a "mental illness," everyone started treating Natsume with great care.

When he finally worked up the courage to tell them he could see monsters, Dr. Agasa immediately booked an appointment with a psychiatric specialist.

Doctor: "Hello there, little one. What can I help you with?"

Natsume: "I'm going to tell you something, but you mustn't be afraid."

Doctor: "I'm a doctor. I won't be afraid. Go ahead."

Natsume: (sighs) "I can see monsters."

Doctor: (leans back solemnly) "Which monster?"

Natsume: "Not which one. Monsters! They aren't people!"

Doctor: (scribbling away) Shows him a drawing of a monster.

Natsume: "They're not like that!"

He picked up some paper and a pencil and drew the monsters as he saw them.

In the end, they diagnosed him with an even more severe condition than the previous evaluation had indicated.
