Suou Hayato, a first-year student at Furin High School, came to Inarizaki High School in Hyogo Prefecture on his master's orders, after peace had settled over his hometown.
The tassels on his earrings fluttered in the breeze as two figures raced past, speaking a dialect he had never heard before.
"Pig Atsumu, if you keep stealing food, I'll get the bread evil spirit to bite your mouth!"
"Pig Osamu, I wasn't stealing food! If you don't believe me, ask that guy who looks really impressive!"
The Miya twins boxed him in from either side.
Miya Atsumu: "Suou, give us an answer!"
Miya Osamu: "Huh? Where'd he go?"
In the blink of an eye, Suou Hayato, who had been surrounded just moments ago, had silently appeared behind the Miya twins.
In the twins' eyes, Suou Hayato's tall, slender figure seemed to glow with a golden light.
"That guy who looks really impressive. Are you talking about me?"
-
"Suou, how did you do that just now?"
More people gathered around Suou Hayato, all of them volleyball players stunned by his incredible skills.
"Want to know?"
Suou Hayato pointed to the eyepatch over his right eye. "There's an ancient evil spirit sealed underneath this."
"I can see through any feint, any strange ball trajectory, in an instant."
"Then I counterattack."
-
When Kita Shinsuke lost his protective charm, Suou Hayato divined that it was in the cat bed behind the gym, and even found himself a lucky cat!
When Suna Rintaro's phone got a virus, Suou Hayato focused his mind and quickly recovered all the fond memories from his two years in the club.
"Suou, were you a delinquent before?"
"Are delinquents where you come from really that kind and handsome?!"
The Miya twins exclaimed in unison, eyes sparkling.
"Then we want to be delinquents too!"
Kita Shinsuke stepped in just in time and put a stop to their idea once and for all.
-
After Suou Hayato joined Inarizaki's volleyball team, they won their first-ever Spring High championship.
"Suou, we'd like to ask you: what's the secret to your victory?"
The enthusiastic reporters crowded around him, surrounding Inarizaki High School's breakout star of the year!
The light-footed boy pointed to the eyepatch over his right eye once more, letting a little of its secret slip.
"Do plenty of good deeds, and you'll be able to see the road ahead."
-
Everyone often discussed in private what Suou Hayato was hiding beneath his eyepatch, until the group went up the mountain to visit a shrine.
The boy with a secret stood before the shrine, stroking a wild fox in his arms. He turned back with a smile, his face more dazzling than the bright moon overhead.
★ Suou Hayato does not use supernatural powers. This is not superpower volleyball!
★ Characters from Wind Breaker will appear. The story focuses on fun everyday life, with volleyball still at center stage.
