Lanshu was once a thousand-year-old immortal herb on Mount Kunlun, awakened to consciousness. One day, the Heavenly Dao enlightened him: if he lived four lifetimes as a human and helped four chosen ones overcome their trials of love, he would gain ten thousand years of cultivation and become human.
Looking at the list of the Heavenly Dao's favored, a Sword Dao Supreme, a demon king's heir, and a formation genius, Lanshu clenched his fists and decided to win their hearts while they were young and naive, then teach them to see through love.
So he donned a secret identity, taking on roles such as the young master of a cultivation clan or a junior disciple of an immortal sect. He played out every kind of romance with effortless skill. After winning over the young prodigies with his sincerity, he would promptly fake his death, leaving them heartbroken and forever disillusioned with love.
From then on, the cultivation world had four powerful widowers. Everyone knew they had loved deeply, but no one knew they had all lost the same wife.

Reader's Guide:
1. The four chosen ones are not related by blood to Lanshu when they develop feelings for him. Each relationship is mutually exclusive and one-on-one, with both parties' first times preserved. He never dates multiple people at once.
2. The true male lead is the Heavenly Dao. The four chosen ones are all its incarnations.
3. Lanshu's death in each lifetime has nothing to do with the chosen ones.
