As a half-blood wizard who grew up in the Muggle world and received both Muggle and wizarding education from childhood, what should you do when you enter a magic school?
Nastia Gray's answer: Join the professors' after-class study groups. Study, study, study.
So, as a Slytherin, what should you do when all your friends are always itching for adventure?
Nastia Gray's answer: If you can't beat them, join them. You can't just watch them get themselves killed.
Even if the "Dark Lord" resurfaces, even if strange incidents at Hogwarts grow more frequent each year, even if darkness falls over the entire British wizarding world and everyone lives in fear,
Nastia still stays true to her original purpose, putting down stubborn roots in the school's fertile soil and striving to soak up knowledge.
"Wait, what did you say? Save the world? Who?" Nastia stared at the famous wizard before her in alarm, realizing that her voice had cracked with shock.
"Don't you want to see this world reborn?"
"It's not that I don't..."
She didn't get to finish.
"I'm glad we've reached a shared understanding of our goal."
"But..."
"Oh, don't worry. I believe you're entirely capable of carrying out those tasks."
Nastia swallowed the words of refusal. "You really think so?"
"Of course."
"All right, I agree."

A few things to know before reading:
1. The author is a frail office worker, so updates are slow.
2. The main story pairs the heroine with everyone; there will be separate endings (probably).
3. Canon pairings will be broken up, a lot of them, including but not limited to Harry/Ginny, Draco/Astoria, Ron/Hermione, and Cedric/Cho. The twins will most likely remain a package deal.
4. Most students in the story believe in blood equality. Not all Slytherin students will be Pure-blood supremacists (that doesn't mean there won't be any).
5. Because of the heroine's upbringing and life experiences, she will have many interactions with the Gryffindor trio.
6. The characters' personalities will differ from the original to varying degrees.
7. The story draws on both the original books and the movies, as well as my own headcanons. Anything you can't find in either the books or the movies is something I made up. Just enjoy it; there's no need to scrutinize it too closely.

The relationship between Nastia and Hermione is what impressed me the most about this book. It's great.
