Jiang Zhiyu realized her husband had been acting strangely lately.
On Monday, he knelt at the foot of the bed and kissed her ankle, slowly tracing her skin with his tongue:
"Would it... taste sweeter here?"
On Tuesday, he gripped her waist and pinned her against the floor-to-ceiling window, rubbing his thumb over her lips:
"I really want to swallow you whole."
On Wednesday, he was once again the refined gentleman, his fingertips always accidentally brushing the softness beneath her collarbone as he gazed down at her:
"I can hardly hold back anymore."
And it wasn't just her husband.
Her supervisor would wander over to her desk with a cup of coffee, lean in until his nose nearly brushed her earlobe, and say,
"Zhiyu, can I lick your sweat?"
As soon as the words left his mouth, Jiang Zhiyu distinctly heard the whole office swallow in unison.
When the new intern from the IT department helped her troubleshoot her computer, his chest pressed close to her back. His breath was scorching as he said,
"Sister Jiang, let me have just one taste. A tiny taste, I promise."
Even her childhood best friend clung to her unusually when they went shopping.
In the changing room, her friend suddenly hugged her tightly from behind, burying her face in Jiang Zhiyu's loose hair. Her breath was hot and heavy:
"Why does even your hair smell so good it drives people crazy..."
Even the stray cats and dogs downstairs were affected.
Whenever she passed the flower beds, they would dart out from the bushes, their cool, wet noses rubbing against her calves as low, almost whimpering sounds rumbled in their throats.
Then, on the night the blood-red moon rose, the truth tore through the disguise.
Slender tentacles slipped out of her husband's shirt collar and curled around her wrist;
her supervisor's tongue split into two, dripping with mucus in the dim office light;
the intern took off his glasses, and the dark gleam of compound eyes swirled in his sockets.
They whispered, caressed, and gnawed, repeating the same words:
"You smell so good... so good we can't stand it."
Otherworldly species need a breeding ground, and humans are perfect vessels.
But every human host they parasitized lost the ability to reproduce.
Except Jiang Zhiyu.
And now, every parasitic creature was licking her with lustful eyes.
