Jiang Xueyin transmigrated into the body of a princess in a feudal dynasty beset by internal and external threats. The palace was rife with harem intrigue, while powerful clans vied for influence behind the scenes at court.
Her mother was weak, and the Xu family was dominant. Jiang Xueyin was left to fend for herself in the harem. As a transmigrator looking at a vast, untapped blueprint for the future, how could she not be tempted?
With the System on her side, what did she have to fear? She would become an emperor whose name would go down in history for all time!
However, women could not become emperor.
When the great clans tried to suppress her, she abolished the aristocratic clans, introduced the imperial examination system, and established compulsory education to stop those families from monopolizing learning.
When the imperial relatives and nobles stood in her way, she issued an edict granting favor to all the emperor's sons, reducing the influence of the imperial family.
She would overcome every hardship herself. Her goal was to build the world's strongest nation.
She built canals and irrigation channels and launched massive construction projects. At first, the people complained bitterly. Later, they praised this unconventional empress without reservation.
Jiang Xueyin gave every displaced person a life in which they had enough to eat and warm clothes to wear. Even if someone tried to stir up trouble by claiming a woman could not be emperor, the people would be the first to object.
She had much more to do: establish a system allowing women to serve as officials, unify the territories, and search for new continents.
What no one knew was that, through every hardship, one person had always remained faithfully at Jiang Xueyin's side.
Gu Ziqing, Lord Consort of Great Yuan: "There are always people in this world whom you only need to look at once to know they're worth following."
Clearly, Jiang Xueyin was his sovereign. He would follow her to the death, loyal to her through life and death.
Theme: Women are every bit as capable as men.
