Second Male Lead Version
1
Song Yanzhou knew he would marry Meng Shutong sooner or later. They had grown up together and were made for each other. Even if other women occasionally distracted him, he loved only the sweet, sensible Meng Shutong.
He'd even brought in the influential figure in the Song family to help her expand her business connections. He'd made it up to her, hadn't he?
2
Later, Song Yanzhou found traces of another man on her, but he didn't dare make a scene, afraid that once the illusion of respectability was shattered, he would be the one left with nothing.
He hurriedly prepared a grand proposal. But by dawn, the distinguished guests had all gone home, and Meng Shutong still hadn't shown up.
He knocked on Meng Shutong's door in a pitiful state. The woman looked dazed and alluring. He clenched his fists. "I'll wait downstairs. How much longer do you need?"
She replied coolly, "Quite a while."
As soon as she spoke, a tall, handsome man came out of the room. His loose pajamas revealed countless scratch marks. He picked her up. "Darling, you don't need to tell outsiders about things like this."
Song Yanzhou nearly crushed his knuckles.
The other man was none other than the lofty uncle he'd feared since childhood.
From then on, he went mad.
Female Lead Version

At a Song family banquet, Meng Shutong and her boyfriend argued upstairs.
Song Yanzhou slipped an arm around her waist and coaxed her. "It was only a fling. I love you. Should I ask my uncle to look after your business?"
Meng Shutong swallowed her disgust and nodded demurely. "All right."
Satisfied, Song Yanzhou went downstairs. She went to change into a demure dress.
Hearing footsteps behind her, she assumed it was Song Yanzhou. "Come help me with my zipper."
The man froze for a moment, then helped her more gently than usual.
A little while later, Song Yanzhou called from outside. "Are you ready, Tangtang?"
Meng Shutong's heart lurched. The man put a finger to her red lips, telling her to stay quiet.
His deep, warm breath filled the muggy spring night as it brushed over her skin inch by inch. "Want to use me to get back at him?"

That night at the family banquet, Song Yanzhou went to the seat of honor and respectfully raised his glass. "Uncle, Tangtang is starting a business. I hope you'll look after her."
The noble man, rarely seen in public, looked past him at the well-behaved girl. "Of course. We'll be family soon."
Only then did Meng Shutong recognize the man who had helped her into her dress.
Song Yili, the head of the Song family, was influential and untouchable. Everyone in Beijing's elite circles respectfully called him Mr. Song, with a hint of fear.
Their eyes met, and Meng Shutong felt a chill run down her spine. The man's gaze coiled around her like a venomous snake, silently luring her into his trap.
At the next glance, he was already chatting elegantly with others, every bit the gentleman.
She thought she must have been mistaken. She'd heard he was proud and aloof, and never paid attention to women. Surely she was no exception.

Later, Song Yanzhou was planning to propose.
In Meng Shutong's room, her phone rang for a long time before she finally answered. "Tangtang, where are you? Both our families are waiting..."
The man ended the call. He held her slender waist tight, his usually cool, dignified face overcome with desire in the dark. "Do you like it? Want to go again?"
Meng Shutong nodded shyly. "Mm."
Months later, the first-ever scandal involving that powerful man at the top of the city's elite circles sent shock waves through Beijing. The most explosive part wasn't that an uncle had stolen his nephew's bride-to-be, but that the big shot had been used and dumped.
Everyone laughed it off. Mr. Song had never cared about anyone, much less a young woman who'd been with his nephew.
In a bar abroad, Meng Shutong had changed out of her demure princess dress. Dressed in a bright, sexy outfit, she danced pressed close to a male model.
That night, the bar was forced to shut down.
Meng Shutong lounged arrogantly against the empty bar. "Uncle, I just wanted to try climbing a ladder to the clouds. You really think I want to be related to that jerk Song Yanzhou?"
The man closed in on her step by step. His cold eyes suddenly softened into a refined smile as he leaned down and trapped her. "Is that all, darling? Changing his last name won't be difficult."
