I Watched 56 Sunsets

A dazzling, radiant heroine VS a sinister schemer who plots against his own brother and claws his way to the top, a "dog."

Before they met, Sheng Lingchuan had heard endless praise for Shen Xingjiang's girlfriend.

Beautiful, sunny, capable, thoughtful, good-natured, considerate...

People made her sound like the most wonderful person alive. In short, Shen Xingjiang had to have done eight lifetimes' worth of good deeds and had smoke rising from his ancestors' graves to win Li Ran as his girlfriend.

To show her off, Shen Xingjiang had arranged a gathering. Sheng Lingchuan arrived late.

Li Ran was playing cards, while Shen Xingjiang stood beside her with a big goofy grin, playing the servant: bringing her fruit and water, wiping her mouth, collecting and handing out her chips. He was so attentive that he didn't look like a young master of the Shen family at all.

At the table with them were Chu Che, Lu Nanyan, and Zhou Xun, who didn't usually hang out with them. The group chatted happily in a lively atmosphere, and stars sparkled in the young woman's eyes.

Shen Xingjiang introduced her to the newcomer. "Ranran, this is Brother Sheng, our leader. He just got back, and you'll be seeing him often. Just call him Brother Sheng."

Li Ran greeted him openly. "Hello, Brother Sheng. I'm Li Ran. I've heard them mention you so often. It's a pleasure to finally meet you..."

Red lips, white teeth, radiant and dazzling. Sweet and obedient.

Sheng Lingchuan glanced at their clasped hands and said coolly, "We've met."

Li Ran looked bewildered, and Shen Xingjiang was puzzled too.

Sheng Lingchuan spoke slowly, his voice low and cold. "Six years ago. Hong Kong University. The parasol tree."

The memory came rushing back to Li Ran. She suddenly smiled, and the polite distance between them vanished, bridged by an old shared memory. She released Shen Xingjiang's hand and leaned toward Sheng Lingchuan. "Wow, it was you!"

So she was the girl everyone had praised to the skies.

Who could fail to like such a radiant, captivating girl?
