The Saint Covets the Divine

Saint Doran has golden curls, blue eyes, and a smile as beautiful as a blooming flower. She gazes at the gods with devotion. They are her entire faith.

A shard of a god's soul is kept inside Doran's heart.

A predator tries to make Doran fall in love with her, hoping to influence that god.

If her feelings can affect a god, why can't she make the god fall in love with her?

Doran gazes at the statue.

No one knows that behind those sapphire-blue eyes lies a desire to claim the god for herself.

The sleeping god senses a fervent, passionate emotion and awakens early. They want to see who carries a shard of their soul, and who has inspired such intense feelings in them. Instead, they find their little believer kneeling before their statue, declaring her love again and again.

Could all this love really be meant for them?

The proud god lowers their head and gathers the little believer in their arms, as if embracing a flame wrapped in love.
