Pei Ningyi was dumped before he'd had his fill of fun.
Did his lawyer boyfriend fall for someone else? No.
Was it because Pei Ningyi couldn't keep his hands to himself? Maybe. No, absolutely not.
Pei Ningyi didn't want to waste his energy over something so trivial.
But then he remembered how snow had fallen from the cliff, and how he had almost been buried alive in a cave by an avalanche halfway through skiing. It was Xiang Linyan's locator that had saved him.
So when someone tampered with the car of Xiang Linyan, that self-righteous champion of justice, Pei Ningyi acted on instinct, flooring the gas to cut the car off and pull him from the vehicle just before it exploded.
Now they were even.

They weren't.
Pei Ningyi lost his memory, and couldn't remember people.
A man claiming to be his partner told him that he loved Pei Ningyi so much, the idiot was willing to put his life first.
Pei Ningyi: Your top priority should be going to the hospital to get your head checked.
Still, that man was exactly his type, and would make a pretty good boyfriend, even though Pei Ningyi was straight.

At first, Xiang Linyan was playing hard to get. Later, he realized he'd taken it too far and almost couldn't reel Pei Ningyi back in.
All he really wanted was to hear Pei Ningyi say he loved him.
Nothing more, nothing less. Just as much as Xiang Linyan loved him.

His memories would come back one day.
Pei Ningyi had to keep working on bringing his scumbag father down, while also dealing with Xiang Linyan's daily, annoyingly detailed updates from morning to night.
"Stop sending me messages. We're over."
"I don't mind you putting a tracker on me. You don't mind that I was using you from the start."
"We've both gotten something out of this. One life for one life, and we go our separate ways. Isn't that better?"
"No."
You saved my life twice, and I still owe you once. I have to win you back.
Falling in love a second time is just right.
"Want me to prepare a feasibility report for you?"
"If that's what you want."
"Get lost."
