Du Xuan has recently acquired a chatty Savior System in her ear. It tells her that the world she lives in is actually an unfinished novel, and that their Time Administration Bureau was about to take over its management when they discovered that a rival organization had invaded it first.
The System solemnly explains: Do you know? Your timeline has already been changed three times. Someone has been granted the ability to rewind time. We have to find this person and stop them from changing every worldline without restraint.
Du Xuan spreads her hands. Whatever. For an office worker like me, every week is a time loop.
System: ...
The System scoffs. Then take a good look at what you're wearing this time! Time has jumped backward again!
Du Xuan looks down and discovers she's wearing a high school uniform, with a copy of Wusan exam prep open in front of her.
Du Xuan: ...
Fine. Faced with the options of repeating her senior year of high school forever or saving the world, she decisively chooses the latter.
Next, the System tells Du Xuan to pay close attention to the male and female leads, who sustain the world's fortune, observe the obvious changes in the events around her, and report back whenever she can.
After observing for a while, however, Du Xuan discovers that the changes caused by each rewind seem to be connected to her. Her relationship with the top student in the class next door, an outstanding student beloved by everyone who died young in the first worldline, seems to be getting better with every loop... The other girl even seems intent on taking their innocent friendship a step further...
Du Xuan: All right, the academic ace is the first person off the suspect list. I don't believe that a top student would be such a bored idiot as to waste the power of reincarnation just to date.
Chen Xizhang, the school's respected student council president, is currently being berated by the World-Destroying System.
The World-Destroying System is beside itself with frustration. I made you reborn and gave you the power of reincarnation so you could become the villain boss and help us take down the male and female leads to seize this world's fortune, not so you could spend every day arranging chance encounters with irrelevant background characters!
Chen Xizhang smiles without warmth. Can superpowers put food on the table? Is there no risk in destroying the world? Are you paying my social insurance and housing fund for all this unpaid work? Do I get weekends and paid annual leave?
System: ...
Chen Xizhang turns serious. So before I do unpaid work, isn't it only natural to collect some interest with the power of reincarnation and do something more meaningful? I just want to gain a pure friendship, that's all.
The System, having never met anyone so shameless, sends a nose-picking JPG. Oh, the kind of friendship that's overflowing with orange blossoms, is it?
