[Western Crossover] The Robin Project

Orpheus's earliest memories were of a cold, gray-green "home" and a group of white creatures.

The white creatures loved talking to him, but never taught him how to speak. It didn't matter. Orpheus was clever enough to teach himself.

Later... sunlight illuminated his "home." Orpheus gained a father and brothers.

He learned more "common sense."

Love, family, friendship, resolve, justice... how to monitor and eavesdrop on a target without leaving a trace, how to use the best possible method to solve a problem (or eliminate an enemy)...

Orpheus felt as if he had become a real human being.

Unfortunately, the person he loved shattered his illusion with his own hands.

"Orpheus, I know you're good at imitating humans, but please don't use me as your reference. I'm busy. Go ask Dick and the others."

Ah, so he was still nonhuman after all.

Being like a person didn't make him one.

It didn't matter. Orpheus only had to protect everyone. That was enough.

He drowned in his silent delusions and burned out amid his voiceless cries.

He is a god with feelings, and Gotham will crown his life.
