Zhou Haige (smiling): You could say that. I brought him back tied up in my mecha.
Cheng Ling (pressing his lips together): She was very considerate. She even shielded me from the sandstorm.
Question: ...We hear Guide Cheng's pre-match still hasn't been dissolved?
Zhou Haige (smiling): What did you say? I didn't hear you.
Cheng Ling (eyes closed): ...Go easy on me.
The interview ended there, as the atmosphere had grown rather heated.
Reader's Note:
1. Female Sentinel and male Guide. An unconventional Sentinel-Guide setting, with some original worldbuilding.
2. The plot and romance are roughly split fifty-fifty.
3. Spirit forms: a snow leopard chewing its tail (female lead) versus a fluffy swift flapping its wings (male lead).
