Have a Bite of Potato God

Zhu Xian absolutely loved potatoes. Steamed potatoes were delicious, fried potatoes were delicious, and shredded potatoes, mashed potatoes, and potato pancakes were delicious. Fries, chips, and potato wedges were all delicious too!

He could eat potatoes at every meal, every day. People even said that he loved them so much, he could fall in love with a potato.

Then one day, he really did meet the Potato God.

The god, holding a basket of potatoes, blocked Zhu Xian's way. As Zhu Xian looked on in confusion, the god transformed into a gigantic potato as tall as a person.

Its skin flushed red as it gently swayed from side to side.

"I'm the Potato God. I want to be with the person who loves potatoes most. You... Huh? Why did you faint?"

Zhu Xian's life had been peaceful, and he never imagined that his love of potatoes would get him into trouble.

The Potato God held up a sheepskin contract and said their marriage was ordained by fate, already approved by the gods.

They might have just met, but ever since the first potato was born, they had been a destined pair!

Zhu Xian pressed his philtrum, nearly suffocating.

"I just like eating them a little too much. How did I end up married?"

"It's fine," the Potato God comforted him. "We can fall in love after marriage. We gods are all about this kind of forced romance."

Later, Zhu Xian brought his handsome South American boyfriend to a mixer.

His boyfriend had honey-colored skin and curly brown hair, wild yet gentle. His pale gray, almost translucent eyes stayed fixed on Zhu Xian. He didn't even glance at anyone else.

A friend teased Zhu Xian: "Where did you find such a handsome foreign boyfriend?"

Zhu Xian answered honestly: "We were betrothed as children."

His friend: ?

His boyfriend snuggled close and added in flawless Mandarin, "I'm his husband."
